Default PSP Slim and lite switching itself off

Hi there first post

So got a slim & lite for xmas played it pretty much all the time not massively like every min of the day and night.

Just in the last 3 days its been switching its self off havent noticed any patterns to when it happens i.e today switched on for the first time since fri morning and within 10 mins of being on switches off. Fri it switched off after 2hrs of playing Fifa08.

It has the latest software updates and a genuine sony 4gb card inside too.

Plz help its driving me nuts!

regards

Graham

If its any help I have found the on/off switch fairly sensitive when the device is in Idle mode...you have to simply push the button rather than push and hold or else it starts turning on and off over and over again

next time you get it to turn on try pushing the on/off switch down to turn the lock on. See if that helps. Check your settings in your PSP to make sure power save stuff is turned off, after I switched to CFW it basically put my PSP back to default setting, which after so much time my screen would turn off then if i didnt touch it it would go into sleep mode, scared the hell out of me at first cause I had never used those settings before, so for about an hour I thought I had the same problem. Let me know what happens.

good point!.... lol no, what I was trying to get him to do was just put the switch in a different spot after he turns it on then leave it alone for a bit and see if it turns itself off again, cause if it stays on, with the switch being in the lock position it could be the switch going out. I know that seems weird but, it makes sense in my head! ..... lol

I have a PSP lite and in the settings it gives you a choice to go into dark mode (dull screen but still visible) after a set amount of time and it allows you to put it to sleep (screen goes black) after a set amount of time in which you just need to press X and it will come back up...

Is the PSP turning totaly off?
