Default 2GB Memory stick not recognised by psp

just bought a 2gb memory stick duo pro for my psp, but the psp just won't recognise the memory stick. Please could some one help me?

I'm not really sure as i bought it off ebay. But i have tried formatting it on the PSP but it can't find the memory stick so it won't work.

What brand is it? I had bought a Lexar 256 Memory Stick awhile ago and all the devices I had (PDA, Camera, ext Card Reader) had trouble reading it and now can't be read at all. Might be a bad stick -- are you able to test it out on another device?

It's a proper Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo High Speed. It is supposed to be able to work with PSP's. The weird thing is the person I bought this card off had said he has been using the card with his PSP for weeks. But the first time i inserted the memory stick into my PSP it did not work.

I've just been told by the man i bought this off that it has been formatted on the PC. How do i solve this problem? Please help!

Have you tried reformatting the card on the pc? Maybe it was a bad format...
