Hi! I'm new around here...

You may be able to get 4gb cards for the PSP, but that does not mean that it will definately support it.
For example, in your PC/Lapop it can only support a certain amount of memory as the physical limitations of the address bus (limits how many locations are avaliable in memory) and the data bus (how much each location can store) are actually etched onto your mortherboard and cannot be changed. I know that this is not the same technology that is used by the memory sticks, but I am sure it is a similar sort of method. As I said before, I am sure that the maximum capacity is 1gb, but PLEASE prove me wrong by getting one to work. |

I was researching memory cards for the PSP and I found that SanDisk has memory cards that look exactly like the "Gaming" version of their Pro Duo but they are cheaper and have a different part number. I called their tech support to find out about this and they said even though the card is a pro duo with Magicgate tech. doesn't mean it will work on a PSP. They said only the ones they call "gaming" will work. This may be the same with other memory makers.

I've got a Japanese White PSP, which doesn't make any difference for playing R2 games because they are region free. But, I've just got a 1gb MS Pro Duo: MSX-M1GN and the PSP doesn't recognise it. I can't format it because it's not recognised.
I wouldn't have thought it was broken, I'm almost positive it's something to do with the firmware. Any ideas please..? Before I send it back... |
