Yes, it's an ingame shot in the race replay. While not in control of the car at that point, it is using the same rendering engine as ingame, like all replays do.

As for Forza 2's graphics, they were toned down to get a constant 60fps frame rate - that game is more about simulation than blow your mind graphics hence the reason I didn't compare these GT5 shots to it. I personally think PGR3's graphics are better than Forza 2's despite being nearly two years older. At the end of the day, I suspect a direct comparison between PGR4 and GT5 will show very little difference, at least in graphics.

I don't want to come across as a PS3 basher here but I just didn't find these screen shots that amazing (as in the thread title), and used a two year old 360 game to show that. I said in my post though it must be a WIP and I have no doubt it will look a lot better when it's released. You only have to look at the blocky graphics in the windshield mirror reflection of the GT5 picture I posted to see it isn't anywhere near complete.

I think it is great that they are coming out with games that will rival the 360 now. Because before i didnt think any ps3 games were worth buying, now MGS4 and GT5 are very good reasons for buying a PS3.

Pagnell, I agree with you on this one, I was expecting more from GT5 as I still am as those screens are from GT:Prologue, and to the rest of the posts under his I only was comparing the graphic qualities...GT5 is going to have a tough time beating Forzas online car auctioning though I love how detailed they are they look professionally made!

I forgot about that. Yeah the auctions are an amazing thing, I remember I was at my friends house when he won an R3 level car for cheap, it was almost as exciting as winning an actual auction. I would be pretty angry at polyphony if they don't put something like that in GT5.

I think there's a way to inject custom pictures. I saw this one of some anime chick, there's NO WAY it's made out of the shapes Forza provides you. I was trying to buy it to get a better look at it, but other people REALLY wanted it, perverts. :P I was just trying to buy it because I wanted to get a better look and see if it really looked all blocky or not, than I'd probably sell it because it wasn't that great of a car.

I don't think there is a way to upload the pictures onto the car. I truly believe that they made them, and for that reason they are worth so much in the game.
