 Awesome... That would be sooooo cool. :P

I think it should have an MMO mode in it, that would be cool.

If you have a 360, you can get the game also. I just posted this in the PS3 section because I own a PS3 and not a 360.

I doubt very much if Sony's online infrastructure could deal with such a thing. Especially given they have shot themselves in both feet with the gargantuan f*ck up of not allowing players of the same game in different regions to play against each other.

I am looking forward to this but not as much as I could have been. The freedom of Crackdown will come at a price - realistic sandbox games feeling boring in comparison.

Well, I guess you didn't know that they already released a firmware update for Resistance where you can play with people from anywhere.

Do you mean a PS3 firmware update or a patch for the game? There is a difference between the two. If a patch, surely that is a one off instance? From what I have read, the general policy is to do with the PS3 what they have done with the PSP - namely stop games from different regions being usable together in multiplayer. For example, I cannot play against my friend in Ridge Racer because my version came with my Japanese PSP back in January 2005.

However, if they have seen Microsoft's way of doing it on Live and realised they had made a mistake then that is a good thing.

I think you also missed the part where Resistance allows you to play an online match with up to 40 people! That should be enough to show you that Sony's infrastructure should be able to handle it.

If that doesn't convince you maybe you remember the Sony game called EverQuest? One of the largest MMOs in history (behind WOW of course). Sony's infrastructure was able to handle that game pretty well, I don't think they'd have any problems.

The patch was in game. From what I understand, the reason why most games on the PS3 do not support online play between different regions because the servers are located in different places. And because one server would be located in the US, and the other in UK for example, the regions were separated as well. Letting people play on servers from different regions would provide unwanted lag. It is no longer the same way it was before, because the PS3 is a region free system, so you can play games from different countries, without being split up. Also Armored Core 4 for example, you were able to make a choice between what region you want to play with, but when I attempted to play against someone from Europe or Asia, I faced terrible lag.

Hey Pag, you can't play game with other UK people? That's stupid, you'd think being on a CFW that's enable region compatibility...

No, I was talking about the PS3. In multiplayer, you couldn't play people outside your own region. So UK gamers could only play UK gamers etc. However, it seems Sony, having sensibly seen they will be left even further behind Live if they left that as it was, have decided to change it and it is now the same in this respect.
