Well, I was just lookin at QJ in comp apps and there it was, the release info for the March 2007 Firmware, the one that Sony built up so much hype for. I just have to say, I'm VERY impressed. I can't really even think of much more that I'd want for it, but they'll figure out some more things for it, I'm sure of it. Anyways, enough beating around the bush, here's the changelog:

For the lucky few that have a PS3 and want to fold, it'd be cool if you could join QJ's folding group. :P 52781 for those who are interested. |

Also, I have read that the PS3 still can't download and play online at the same time.

The Xbox can download AND play online? At the same time?
What the PS3 does is it has background downloads, you can play a game, watch a movie, whatever, but when you play online, it pauses the download, but right when you're done online, it picks back up. Also, Sony is working on a Playstation Store for the computer. And if it's on for more than 10, 20, or 30 minutes, you're obviously not using it, so it starts the program(which is for a good cause...) It's not mandatory, you can set it so it doesn't start. |

I think thats an awsome idea with the folder cancer thingy.
I read somewhere that a project is going down where a company is connecting 1000's of ps3's together to simulate the human body to cure things like that. I know that pretty much whats happening here, but i mean in the same room, to create the worlds most powerful super computer. Currently owned by IBM i believe. Anyways, does the bluetooth keyboard and mouse work on linux. I will buy a ps3 when i know it has all the features of a PC so i can do my work on it. As i need a new computer / laptop. Kev 8) |

Great news about the upgrade gents. I hope that it addresses your concerns for the PS3 and goes along way to making your gaming experience better.
As for the cancer research thing.... similiar thing was out on the PC for SETI and then for some medical thing as well. I am all for ANYTHING that helps the fight of cancer. Des  |
