I think consoles have taken over the PC performance now havent they, used to be PC's for a while.

Not sure that is correct my old mate.... A high end pc is extremely powerful indeed and graphics cards are changing all of the time to keep up with the ever increasing demand for faster and faster cards.

Your comment would be correct if the budget for a pc was the same as say a 360 then the 360 would come out on top but for £2000 I could specify the inards of a AlienWare Area51 which would blow your socks off.

I am just in awe at what is now possible with both platforms and am grateful that I can participate in them too.

I know that the PC's are more in performance, i didnt realise though that the game PC requirements are as high as that yet.

I saw my first PS3 two days ago at my local Super Store... had some rocky road car racing game on and a Chinese kid that was well into the game... complete with leaning as he steered this 4x4 baja buggy hybrid about.

The graphics looked crisp and very detailed... this could have something todo with the latest HDTV Sony had supplied for the demo display :wink: ... they also seemed quite fast too. Standard mapping glitches it the car went and crashed where it should not have gone and crashed... hmmm and very linear too... could not go off course due to a drop one side and a cliff the other.

Anyway... it looked good but no better than the 360.... PGR3 looked just as impressive if not more. The HDTV does make a big difference. I know that if I had bought it on the demo display and plugged it into a standard tv I would be disappointed.

Love to see one in someones home with some decent games on it to try out.

tis called motostorm and you have to play it in first person to get the real game (its realy amazing) ...... man i want a PS3 haha

That game that you played was Motorstorm Demo. I downloaded it on my PS3 and it is really bad. I am hoping that when they release it, there will be a lot of improvement. Please don't judge the system by that demo, try something like Resistance or Ridge Racer 7 first.
