Default Confirmed: Pay as you play with PS3 GT HD - Oh dear....

An earlier romour on Maxconsole:-

Quote:
A Famitsu interview with Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed some slightly disturbing facts as to how you will truly pay as you play with PS3's GT HD. It's rumoured that you will not get cars via in game events and by only purchasing and downloading. To own all the cars and tracks in the game, you may have to fork out as much as $845!
And confirmation today:-

Quote:
An official press release from Sony regarding Gran Turismo HD seems to reveal the thought we all dreaded - in theory, paying lots of cash to get all the cars and tracks in the game. The release reads "allows for the long awaited feature of additional cars (ranging up to 770 car models) and tracks (up to 51) available through ongoing downloads".
Nice. It seems to get the most out of the game you need to purchase the additional cars and tracks - none of the superb free track and vehicle downloading that came with Wipeout Pure on the PSP.

Personally I think it's disgusting - especially as they're trying to advertise it as a feature when it is clearly a rip off.

Sony clearly taking aim at it's foot with this. Let's hope they see sense before the release date.

Wow, that's not right.... All this bad news; I'm starting to like Microsoft more. WHY CAN'T MICROSOFT HAVE ALL THE FINAL FANTASY GAMES!?!?

I know what you're saying, the news just keeps getting worse and worse on the PS3 scene, I probobly wouldn't play this game much, but that's still a retarded idea it's like "HEY! YOU CAN GET THIS GAME FOR ONLY $60 OR $70, THAN YOU CAN GO ONLINE AND SHELL OUT A FEW HUNDRED MORE AND GET SOME OTHER CARS AND TRACKS TOO! THAT'S SUCH A GOOD DEAL!!" Man, that was good marketing with the price drop, but this idea is just STUPID, it's going to make none but boot-leggers want it.They're going to end up loosing money with all the stupid things they've been doing lately...

I heard that the first GT release for the PS3 will be little more than GT4 with HD support and a few extras.

have you seen the trailer for vision gran turismo? looks nothing like gt4 so I'm hoping this is just something polydigi are releasing while we wait for GT5/vision to be released, I'm guessing that it will take a while from how long they're taking with GT mobile for PSP

That is exactly what it is - something to appease the masses while they spend three years making the next one.

I suppose it isn't so bad then, so long as they dont do the same with GT5, people might aswell keep playing gt4 till the day comes

**Just in case SONY is watching this thread**

I would really love an "inside the car" view on the next GT. Like where you can see the steering wheel turn, the dash, the gauges...everything

Sony... *shakes head*
I just want to knock some scense into them, this is a retarded idea, what is the point of buying the game to buy more?
The whole point of buying a game is it comes on the disk you just bought.
