But it would be so much better if you could actually use it while in games. I mean its really annoying having to quit your game just so you can check a message someone sent you. It will also be nice to be able to intergrade the PSN friends list into games better.

In my opinion, Live's only got in-game dashboard access over the PSN. We get free private chats with up to six people in the room. Messaging, access to the PS Store, etc. So once in-game XMB is available, its basically on par. Oh if you want to count the movie download service then yes, Sony is releasing a Movie/Music download service this year. So, I'm confident both systems will pretty much offer the same things, up until Home is released. Then I think the PSN will be better. Opinions of course.

MS have apologised about the downtime over the holidays and they're even letting live users have a free arcade game, details haven't been released yet as to which game and when...

Nice.
Ryder, if one service is behind another then its only a matter of time befor the behind service catches up, this is a good thing as once i get a ps3, psn should be as good as if not better than live. About the home thing, that will be good providing it isnt automatically loaded and time wasteful to those who dont want it. If there is an option to disable it then yeah its gonna maybe get the edge over live. I hear that the ps3 games have dedicated servers, not all but some, that is superb imo. I like watching the two compete, at the end of the day its all the better for me. Kev ![]()
