Oh dear, this guy clearly doesn't like the Nintendo Wii and clearly indicates that, from a power perspective, it is last gen in his opinion. A bit harsh in my opinion but he clearly knows more than me.

What is this dev comparing the CPU to? that of the 360? Well fair enough he's right there, but we already knew that!
It's a shame in one way to know the games on the Wii will never be as visually impressive or be able to handle as much as the 360 and PS3. I think to be completely happy, the avid gamer needs a 360, PS3 and Wii sat under their telly.

hey fellas, lets understand one thing: Nintendo is makin a lot of money with the Wii, and when they have had enough with the Wii, they will for sure, come with another super console. . . and then what will happen with PS3? Well Sony has it for years ahead of 'em . . . so nintendo comes with something more powerful and will rule in the market. . . and still Sony will not be able to release another console, cos they will not have made much money with PS3 as they expected. . .

at the end of the day the power of a console doesn't affect its sales, look at N64 vs PS1, the N64 was almost twice as powerful as the PS1, didn't have as long loading times (cartridges rule), but still the ps1 won the war because of its vast library of games available, while Nintendo had the classic & cute games but not as many.

As for the Wii's power, it isn't going to make any difference to the sales as people don't buy the Wii for realistic graphics or AI - the type of games that are on it don't require them.

A developer is just another job, I know a pilot who don't like to fly certain planes, while there are a million other pilots who love the fly the same plane he hates. Its all personal opinion. Next-gen doesn't mean better graphics, better graphics is just a slice of the pie.

Your all wrong!
Not you pagnell  Oh, about the pilot thing. If a pilot doesnt like flying the plane because its too large etc, etc. But if the others dont like it because the computer hasent got enough power to handle the radio system and the controls to land at the same time, then they arnt going to like it, not because opinion but because its a crap design. He is looking at it from a programmers prospective. Looking at the CPU's incapabilities to produce good AI is a big factor in making a console. Sure most games on wii are multiplayer so AI isnt needed as much, but games like redsteel is going to be hard to develop for him as it needs to be restricted. Its still his opinion, but he has alot of ground to stand on, being his job title. Kev 8) |
