The Wii, 360, and PS3 are competitors and so are Lexus and Kia (and all the other auto companies). It's a fact. Simple economics really.

I get the argument just fine, its you guys that dont get the argument. The 360 been out for some time and the ps3 was no secret, if it was Nintendos intent to compete then we would have another 500-600 dollar system on the market. Instead they are letting the 360 and the ps3 have an expensive battle over graphics when the Wii went in a new direction with the Wii remote for better gameplay. Not once did I ever hear Nintendo say they are better then the 360 because of this or better then the PS3 because of that.

Nintendo may not have said that the Wii is better, who cares if it isn't? but the truth is that they ARE competing against each other, they always have done!

If you want to go out and buy a videogame console now, whats your choice? Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft. Simple!

OK so they might be aimed at different people, Nintendo have done this so they can try and get a bigger chunk of the market.

I don't really want to keep with the car analogies but Kia and Lexus are not in competition. That is why, unlike consoles, cars are seperated into classes. For example a Ford Mondeo is in the same class as a Vauxhall Vectra. A Ford Focus is the same class as a Vauxhall Astra. And a Lexus IS (the cheapest model they make) is in the same class as a Mercedes C Class or a BMW 3 series.

For want of a better example, a Kia would be in the same class as a Daewoo.

This is a rather sad argument considering kia and lexus are both as lame as each other. IMO

But i cant see how you can say that they dont compete.

They both build cars, their aim is to sell as many as they can. They are not competitors around a track, obvious because lexus would win that (no competition)

But both the goals are the same, to make money. They want as many people to buy their cars. They just have different approaches to it.

Both car companies cater to different people. The PS3 and 360 are for the gamers who want realistic graphics and all that other stuff. The Wii is not going for realistic graphics its not going for advanced AI, that’s why it’s multiplayer out of the box. Just because they both make game console doesn’t mean they are in competition, just like Kia and Lexus, both make cars for different people, people are different, not everyone is like you and not everyone cares about realistic graphics.
