yeah Mii's are just people that you create, its quite fun to make them, you can make loads and they all walk about the 'Mii Plaza' you can then send your mii's to friends, plus you can turn 'travel' on so that your Mii's appear on other Wii's and your friends Mii's appear on your Wii.
You can use a Mii to play wii sports with, plus all the rest of the miis on your console appear as spectators and competitors in the sports. I'm trying to see if I can upload a Mii to E-mail. I'd love my own wii as an avator

I found the whole idea of the Mii Travel quite hilarious. Basically when the Wii is on standby its connected to the internet (if you've actually connect it obviously) and your Miis can wonder off your Wii and onto other peoples. One time I turned on my Wii and there were 7 strange Miis hanging around with mine

There is a website http://www.thewiiexperience.com/create-a-mii/ where you can make some Mii's. It doesn't have all the features that are on the Wii for the Mii's
