Check out the screen shots of Call Of Duty 3 on the Wii. Not good - reminds me a bit of the first Medal Of Honour on the PC from about five years ago! You can clearly see there is absolutely no bump mapping and the texture detail is awful. I wonder if it is just lazy programming or if that is the best they could do because of the hardware. If the latter, I wonder if at least graphics wise, the Wii is an advancement over the GameCube?
Let's hope the superb price and novelty control method is enough to save the console. I'm the first to admit graphics don't make a game but they obviously help. ![]() ![]()

Im going with, its the best the Wii can do. That looks like the graphics from my Xbox version COD. I was playing last night and that is about the same. I reckon graphic power has gone like this. Xbox have improved. Playstation have improved. Wii has just got to Xbox level...

Those graphics do suck. But you also have to keep in mind that the PS3, Xbox 360 and now the Wii are all going to be hot gaming systems with 3 different ways to code games. So resources are going to be stretched thin, and most likely more attention will be focused on the PS3 and 360. Another thing to keep in mind, games get better as the system mature. Take PS2 for example, the first games out dont even compare to the games coming out for it now. So I think it may be a bumpy road for the Wii at first, but give it some time and it will mature into something great.

You may disagree but that is the way it works. Nintendo may want it to look its best but Nintendo isnt making all the games for the Wii, its the other companies that are making them, and they are also making games for both the PS3 and 360. Look at all the games on release day of any system, they all are lacking and can not compare to what the games look like toward the end of the systems life. There is only one exception that I can think of and that was Super Mario Bros for the NES.

What he was saying is that if you take a game that came out at the start of a consoles life (I'm going to use Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 because it rocks and it was a launch title for the PS2) it will not be able to take full advantage of the console. Just look at the graphics in THPS3 and compare them to Tony Hawks American Wasteland. The graphics were vastly superior in THAW because the developers had been able to unlock the full potential of the console. Its the same with gameplay play THAW and the levels in THPS3 are tiny in comparison.
