Personally, I liked Halo better than Halo 2. I found Halo more exciting and surprising than Halo 2. But I suppose the graphics did improve with Halo 2...

Graphics did improve with Halo 2, but they used texture pop-ins to help which were completely annoying.

Btw, I liked Halo more aswell. Both are amazing multiplayer games.

Texture popping is when objects are loaded pretty much blank and then the textures (ie road surface or buildings) are rendered on them when you come near them. Sometimes the game can't render them in time and you will see the blank object for a short while before the nexture 'pops' in.
Its usually done to save loading time when loading the level
