I really think that the Wii and the DS are a plague of this gaming generation. Both offer absolutely horrible games, yet they continue selling more than crack. Just a couple of days ago they had the worst E3 presentation that I've ever seen, yet just yesterday I saw people lining up because my local best buy got Wii and Wii fit in stock.
Seriously, what the hell is going on. Why are people still getting this console. It barely has any good games, most of which have already been released. How can people keep falling for this. Nintendo is not even trying anymore, they don't market anything, it just sells itself. Can anyone explain this to me? I am really starting to lose hope in humanity... |

Well the DS actually had some good games and good remakes, it's a matter of finding them, same goes for the Wii. Plus some of the 3rd parties are actually the ones that help sell the Wii and DS, not Nintendo really. You have older woman and some younger ones who love the petz games created by Ubisoft, slap it on the Wii and you've got every girl wanting and longing for both systems. Not to mention the controls are easy as hell so it's not a lot of combination to memorize or anything.
Though I will agree Nintendo isn't trying because they really don't have to try anything at the moment. (Selling wise) but game wise they have to try and get something that appeases every taste, especially if 3rd parties aren't going to do it. Overall I think its how you play the games are important to NON gamers and with the DS and wii its a while new experience.

Yep, sony could learn a thing or to on top of what they already know. I'm not slating sony for a second, but they should have done better bearing in mind the technology they produce. Their marketing manager does not need firing. He needs shooting

The Wii fit is actually very good and entertaining! but I know what you mean about propergames. The unit itself is essentually a gamecube in another plastic box with an eye toy addon, motion sensor. Nothing new really, but the thing is it works really well. We play as a family alot on the system.

Companies main objective: Profit maximisation
Nintendo's accomplishments: Profit maximisation Sony accomplishments: Profit Minimalisation Microsoft accomplishments: Purchased profits lol Yes, they should learn from Nintendo, not in how to make a games system, but how to sell them. Kev ![]()

Why?
Because 85% of Nintendo's profit's come from casual gamers. Miyamoto even announced that E3 was now for casual gamers in an interview. Bullsh*t...we all know soccer moms are tuning into G4 to watch E3 every year.
