"Square Enix has sent word that their upcoming CG feature film based on the FFVII PlayStation game will be screened at Venice International Film Festival, September 1st through 11th.

The film festival, held in Venice, Italy, will host a new “Venezia Digitale” category which features digital film. A special preview version of the film will be displayed at the film festival, as Square Enix is still working towards the final version to be released this winter in Japan.
No work when the planned UMD version of the film is to be released.

yeah, the videos of it running movies look really good, the screen is huge compared to other handhelds

I dont think there is a release date yet.
But there is a Final Fantasy Advent Children website with lots of information http://www.adventchildren.net/
