Unhappy SANDISK 8g - PSP does not format

Hello PSP Experts. I had finally decided to buy an PSP player after gettin convinced by my daughters and I like it. I bought a 2g Memory Stick but because I have wanted to download so much files, I decided to purchase an 8g San Disk SD. It finally arrived and was so excited but got pretty frustrated real fast since it wouldn't format nor will our PSPs recognize the 8g. I researched around but couldn't find anything. Any pointers? I would truly appreciate it very much. Thanks.

Lin

You say you bought a SD card. Sorry to say but PSP doesn't support SD cards.

Its the wrong type of card. it has to be a pro duo or a pro duo2 with a pro duo adaptor. You can get adaptors that will fit various different type of card to be compatible with different slots. But only the Micro kind, which you say you have. If you dont want to go thru the hassle of sending it back, try and find a pro duo adaptor for the model of memory card you bought. otherwise buy a digital camera to put it in or something

Pro duo is what you need. Any other card it doesn't support.

If it is that micro sd card with a pro duo adapter then it may be the adapter.

Some adapters only work with cards up to 4gb.

Either that or the mem card is fake.

Yeah u got conned unless there was an adaptor with it.
I know adaptors exist though and judging by the similar titles in this link you got it from the same seller promising the same thing.

eBay.ie: #S4Ta 4GB SANDISK MICRO SD CARD MS PRO DUO SONY PSP 4G (item 250249746564 end time 24-May-08 01:10:43 BST)

But pslayer is correct, there has been issues with cards over 4 gb in general anyway... which is a shame, cos i want an 8gb one but i dont wanna pay pro duo prices. Let us know how things go

Peace

EDIT : *** Attention Buyer ***

For Example: PSP users need to load game to the microSD card then insert to MS adapter to get it to work, format directly on PSP will NOT work.

So. Basically what that guy is saying is that you need an adapter?!?!?!?!?

Can you just shove the card in the psp (in the adapter) and put homebrew and stuff on it (asking people who have a micro sd card which works )
