Default Question

My cousin got a Sony PSP 2 days ago, and he came to me yesterday with a problem. He said that he can't get mp3's onto his psp with his computer, so I tryied it on mine and it worked out fine. We found out that we had to go into my computer and put files into the movable F drive.

So he went home and tryied it, he called me and said that it doesn't show up. Now I don't know about the PSP because I don't really plan on getting one; but what could be the problem is his USB plug-ins out of date? (he has a compaq presario with 98 on it, circa 2000 I say)

Hiya... ok let's take it for granted that you know whats what and that the cable is fine... the obvious thing is that the USB port needs to be version 2.0 and that '98 will not recognise the PSP as a removable storage device without the aid of some driver. I am sure that this was covered on a previous posting.
May I suggest you sit yourself down and have a good old read through the threads until you come across the posting or perhaps someone could be a bit more specific and answer your question directly.

Best of luck.

Well I read threw some of the threads going all the way back to page 3 (it started to crash) And couldn't find anything, but what you're saying is that he needs some driver (does this come with the PSP) for his comp to recognize the PSP?

If so then what are these drivers and where can I find them? Sorry if I'm rushing but its just that he's going on a trip in a few hours.

The driver is not a standard shipping thingf with the PSP.... as my good friend suggest a search of the web and this forum should give you more information.

Sorry that we coould not help you directly but wish you all the best in sorting your problem... please pop back and keep us updated on your progress.

Regards

Find a homebrew driver for the PSP's USB mode.
