Default buying a usa psp for the uk

so, im finally getting into the world of psp!

A friend is returning from the states soon, and i would like a psp to return with her...so im wondering if everything works ok over here in the uk, as i know the power out there is different to ours

im thinking of going with the silver daxter pack Amazon.com: PSP Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice Silver: Video Games

any responses appreciated!

Other than needing a power adapter, you will not be able to play European UMD movies on the US PSP. But I don't think that is a big deal since they pretty much gave up on those movies anyway. From what I remember, games are region free.

Games i am 100% sure however UMD movies you will have to buy region 1.

are there any way to buy region 1 movies online?

never mind i just realised you can watch movies off the memory card anyway :P

can the same thing be done for games?

Yes the same thing can be done but you cannot discuss playing gmaes of the memory stick here because its illegal.

sorry guys, one more question.

the psp ill be buying is this one

the new psp 2000

is there a firmware update of something on this one, that will not allow you to play games off the memory stick?

The only way to downgrade the slim is with pandora battery. That will allow homebrew.
