There are actually stores that sell parts like these. Try looking for places that mod consoles around your area, most of them have screens, and they can put them in for you as well.

the only game related anything around me is gamestop and electronics boutique. everything on ebay is ~$30 plus fifteen or so for shipping which is a rip.

dealextreme.com has them, they got one with a backlight for $30(usd).
