Dang, that sucks, I've got all my receipts in a drawer. Most companies are able to help you out if you've lost the receipt though, just go in around the same time on the same day the next week and tell someone who the clerk was, they keep records of what they've sold, than you can just match up the serial number with the serial number on the receipt. Alternatively, you could describe the clerk and see if any of the other workers know him/her. Only way I could think of that this wouldn't work is if it were hot...

I usually buy consoles and things using my debit card, stores can use the number from your card and you can prove that you bought it from them.
Heck when I replaced my PSP the day after I bought it they didn't even ask for a receipt or anything!
