So you are saying that "Its impossible" and "It cant be done" are different?
I must disagree to some extent on that one. And i see hacking the PS3 very doable indeed, as i said before, its been done with the 360 and im sure Microsoft done everything they could to prevent it, so i cant see Sony coming up with a bulletproof system if the biggest software company in the world cant do it. This is one of those "time will tell" debates, and i for one am interested in what the results will be. Kev ![]()

It's not software that is blocking it Kev, it's both hardware and software. Sony put some piece of hardware that block's any and all access to th graphics chip if it isn't signed by Sony...

Speaking from a vantage point of experience I would say that nothing is impossible when it comes to any code... it can be VERY differcult but not impossible.
Ryder.... any system that reads media and then decides if the data on the media is valid or not is software driven not hardware.... and software can be cracked... hardware as in physically checking the disk is something different... but even then this is software driven unless it is totally mechanical and know physical piracy comes into play. Nothing is impossible just sometimes one has to compromise on the solution ![]() Des |

So is it not possible to create a program that is "signed by Sony", i mean if all the keys and security in place was cracked then it would be quite simple to fool a computer to think its genuine.
Look at the cracks on Vista / XP, it gets past microsofts vlidation techniques. As for Hardware controlling access of software... all hardware is controlled by software so it is at the end of the day controlling the blocking process. Unless of course this "hardware you talk of is some minute electronic guard dog that bites the ankles of any trespasser or postman. Unless you can explain exactly how this works then i will stick to my theory that the PS3 is just as hackable as the 360 or any other machine out there. Kev ![]()

IMO the PS3 is doing phenomenal compared to the 360 and Wii when we talk hacking. Will it be hacked later down the road? Hell yeah! But as for now, it proves better at keeping hackers out then what the 360 was capable of.

That's a silly statement. I'm not that smart on PS3 hacking and whatnot, but the Wii isn't soft-modded, it has to have a chip installed. The 360 has mod chips out aswell.
Piracy isn't on the PS3 because a modchip isn't (right?) Constantine
