Default Hello to all...

Just in introducing myself to the community. I just picked up a used PSP (2.71) and have been looking into the many possiblilites of this system. This site has provided a lot of information thus far.

Thanks in advance...

get the downgrader here dude. Need a hand then just ask. You really need to be on 1.5 to open up the underground of the psp, ie over half of its potential

My PSP originally had ver 2.50 but I bought Madden with it and it upgraded the PSP to 2.71. Will I still be able to play Madden if I downgrade?

Thanks

Yes you will, to do so, downgrade to 1.5, than from 1.5, install DAX's 3.03 OE-B.

Here's a little tutorial on how to do it:
Step 1: downgrade to 1.5. When the screen turns red, DO NOT touch it. Leave the PSP alone until it is 10000% done or you WILL break it, that's how my last one broke.
Step 2: When you're on 1.5, Update to 3.03 OE-A, than from 3.03 OE-A, upgrade to 3.03 OE-B. Follow the instructions provided on there, and like the downgrade, DO NOT touch it while it's doing stuff.

Thanks for the information. I will try this later tonight.

I have one more question. I've noticed, while scrolling through the different menus, that I have to press down on the d-pad a little harder than the other directions to make the cursor move. I sprayed air to see if it was just dirty. Should I worry about this and return the used unit and get a new one? I know it will prevent me from getting the homebrews but I don't want to end up with a defective unit.

Thanks

I wouldn't, not worth it IMO. If it does become a problem later, try to upgrade it and send it into Sony.
