Default confused....

Ok so im kinda new to the psp and have a few questions...

1) what is "homebrew"?
2) why does everyone want to downgrade to 1.5?
3) Is it possible to watch movies from your psp on your tv?

I read through a few posts here and there but im still confused.

1) Emulators and applications that can run games and such that PSPs aren't made to run

2) To be able to run Homebrew

3) No

*I'm on my PSP and I'm about to fall asleep, so sorry for being short

he probably doesnt know what emulators are

they are games and things like that that can be saved on your memory stick. For example you can get the Homebrew game PONG for your PSP,

We all want to downgrade to 1.5 because the higher the firmware, the harder to put homebrew on it.
