Default New Dad on board

New to psp not to being a dad.
I just picked up a psp for my son so I'm sure I'll be here asking questions and getting info.
here's the first. I got a 256 MB Sony pro duo stick but the psp doesn't see it. I put his buddies 32MB card in and it found it. His friend put the 256 MB stick in his psp and his found it??? What could that mean?
I tried formatting the card but it doesn't see it for formatting either.
Help a dad out guys.
Thanks.
John

It's a Sony Pro duo 256MB and it works in his friends psp so I don't think it's a non psp stick. Maybe something to do with firmware version??
