Looking for a little help, so I started looking for a good forum. Seems like I found one
.I bought my PSP from Newegg, then went out to a local EBgames to buy a couple of games. They had quite a few in stock. Ended up walking out with Ridge Racer, Lumines, Wipeout, and a movie, XXX. What I need a little help on is this. I don't have a mp3 player, I can use this for an MP3 player right? I want to be able to hook this up to my pc so I can d/l songs and radio interviews from the net to the psp. Do I need some kind of larger memory stick? If so, any reco's would be appreciated. Also, when I take my dog for a walk or I'm whacking the grass, I'd like to get a carrying case that I could hook to my belt. Is there anything like that out there in the market? Thanks for any help offered. Glad I found this forum. Best, Liquid Cool |

Congrats on getting you PSP! But what possessed you to get XXX?!
Answer 1: Yes, you can use this as an MP3 player, but ONLY MP3 until 2.0 comes out. You hook it up to your computer via USB, go into My Computer, double-click on the new drive, and copy and paste your MP3s into the Music folder. Answer 2: I would suggest getting a 1gb memory stick. They run from about 100-150, but you can store lots of pictures, music, and movies on it. Answer 3: Well, I don't know. Do you really want to clip something that you spent over 300 dollars on onto your belt? I would instead suggest getting a bigger battery, a home theater system for the PSP, and a hoodie. Don't run with you dog, and keep on hand in there holding it. Viola. Hope that helps. Constantine

Constantine,
Thanks for the suggestions. Just getting the hang of using this thing. Been tearing up Ridge Racer the past few nights. Went out today and bought a USB patch cord, can't seem to get my PC to recognize the PSP though, might have gotten a bad cord? Dunno. Still trying to figure it out though. The cord I bought is made by NYKO. It has a power cord built in so you can charge your PSP from you PC. This part of the cord seems to work, but the other part of the cord doesn't. Best, LC |

No, I've been using that handle since 2000. Liquid Cool'd computers, I build custom PC's for gamers as a hobby. I hang out at PC Perspective, the old AMDMB board.
I was actually doing a little research on the new game platforms coming out..want an XBOX 360 when they come out the first of November...I ran into this PSP, and thought, what they hey? Just surprised at how they can pack all of this coolness into one cell phone sized unit. When I pulled it out of the box, I said what the f? this is it?...but man it performs. I like it. Having written a few FAQ's over the years, I know the work that goes into them. You better believe I appreciate it. No problems getting it to work on X64 either...
