hello everyone. my name is lester and i just bought my psp this mornin. yes i am a newbie. please take it easy on me. i've been thinkin about buyin the psp since it came out. i finally decided to get one when i found out that im deployin to iraq next month. now for the technical stuff. I AM COMPUTER ILLITERATE. i just use a computer to download music and check my email. i dont even know about that html stuff. like what i said..........take it easy on me. ive been askin around about the psp. when i asked people i know about whats the best thing to bring to iraq people said three things, a helmet, bulletproof vest and a psp. i see their point about the psp. i gotta admit, music, movies, games. what else do you need?

to tell you honestly. im not tryin to transform my psp into a super computer. not a big fan of hackin it. thats why when i found out that the psp that i bought is a 1.51 that didnt bother me at all. but im thinkin about doin the 2.0 upgrade. i just found out that you can upgrade it into 2.0. does that mean i can go to the internet, put my regular jpeg images and turn it into a background. start flamin.

That's a great idea. I was holding back myself, but I discovered someone's starting to hack it for homebrew so I'm going to update Monday. You should. If there's a network close to you, you can go online and find out what's going on back here.

thanks for taking me in FalseProphecy. if i do wanna upgrade to a 2.0......how am i supposed to do it? like what i said I AM COMPUTER ILLITERATE. can somebody help me out? i just wanna make my psp worth it. reason why i bought it is because most of the people that im deploying with has one and i did jump on the bandwagon with them. i know for a fact that my psp is gonna be my bestfriend when i get to iraq.

Well, you can check IGN (www.ign.com) on the 15th of this month (Tomorrow) and they'll have a free download of 2.0. Then just put it into your PSP. (We'll explain that much when you get the update.)

Well, you can find a connection, set up your connection (it has to be public) I can't help you for setting it up, ask FalseProphesy.

Then Go to the farmost left icon in the menu and scroll up to network update. Click it and use the connect you just set up. It will find one and install it. (You need to be connected to a plug to download it and 50% power when you install it) If you run out of power while downloading it, your PSP will physically break.

To check if you have 2.0 firmware, scroll down in the same menu to "System settings"

If you do this before Monday, you will download 1.52 firmware instead of 2.0 firmware and you will have to do this again for 2.0 firmware.
