Default Hello!

Hi guys, seems like a great forum.

I am looking to buy a psp this week. I have heard all this talk about firmware and the like. Is there a problem if I get the brand new lite slim one? Should I try and get an older version or can firmwares etc be modified?

Thanks for any first time buyer help!!!

It is a great forum lol

the brand new slim and lite( PSP 2000 ) will soon be replaced by the PSP 3000 with its better screen and such, if you want to wait for that it will be out in october. not so sure about whether you can mod that cos it aint out yet
The 2000 is obviously slimmer and lighter, the 1000 original feels more substantial, its down to personal choice...
Theyre about the same when it comes to modding them. The very newest slim motherboards have yet to be hacked, so it might be best to get a second hand one thats in mint condition to make sure you get one that can be modded

click the link below when you have a spare 20 minutes to read about the process of modding what you can do when youve modded

I'm not sure about the model, the motherboard version however does matter

Pandora and despertar del Cementerio does NOT work on TA-088v3 Slims.

Don't worry about it too much though

But... sony appear to have tightened the grip on piracy and unsigned code execution, on the outset spell bad news and teething problems for hacking the 3000
