hey guys, psp n00b here. got a good deal and picked one up on a car forum im on. got a psp, 512 meg memory stick, charger, case, and socomII for 90 bucks dont ask me what firmware it is, as i have no idea.

now, im not an active gamer, but after researching all the other programs this thing can do, im looking forward to getting a gps and messenger on here and possibly some other programs.

well hot d.amn, you know what that means dont you?.. you just earned the right to buy me my next game!

its a phat psp, the guy's had it for about a year, maybe a little less. i dont know what version or firmware it is/has yet because i wont get it until next week due to shipping

hoping to use it for gps, wifi, messenger, entertainment (mp3 etc.) and some gaming. im anxious to try it out as ive never played one before.

U wont get GPS on a phat, only slims. everything else you have, and IR but that means very little alsoseein as it served virtually no purpose

As for buying you a game... he he, i have 3 pysical copies, do the math, and shhh

no gps!? fack! that was the #1 reason i bought it..

that cant be right.. i looked online and saw the 40 dollar (or whatever it is) add-on you buy to obtain the gps signals. that and the software to download.

Yeah some of the software and stuff is only for the slims as they have more RAM. The slims have skype and the phats dont. If you have CFW (M33 firmware) there is extra stuff you can do like for the phat you can control tv's and stuff using an app caled IRshell. More about that later if you actually have CFW. I just seem to like the stuff you can do with IRshell even though i have a slim.

so there is a chance i can use it? main reason i want it is because im doing a lot of traveling this summer and would rather have a psp i can use for more than gps than go spend 300 on a gps alone.

im looking at a few links with the gps piece installed on phat psp's, but wont post unless someone tells me its ok. i know forums sh!t bricks over this sometimes..

(and no they are not other forums or hear-say sights)
