Horror movies are great... latest ones I have are

Boogeyman

Grudge

Both were ok(ish) but nothing special. Favourite horror movie of all time has to be Evil Dead... scarred the bejeebies outta me as a teenager... I also found the next few funny ones in the series with Bruce Cambell to be great fun.
The first Halloween was pretty good too... same as the Exorcist when it came out... oh and obviously OMEN...

So which Horror movie is your favourite then my old mate?

I have a lot of favorites: It (by Stephen King), From Dusk to Dawn, Scream (trilogy), Aliens (1, 2, 3, Ressurection, and A. v P.), The Thing, The Fog, Night of the Living Dead. I could go on and on, but I don't want to bore you.

I loved the first Evil Dead. Haven't seen the sequeals. Boogeyman I have but haven't watched yet. The Grudge kind of freaked me out. I liked it.

The list of horror movies you liked are reflected in any list I would have made except that the Alien movies are more SCi-Fi genre to me. The Thing was great and the Fog was ok I must admit I am not a great lover of Mr.Kings books or his films too much. I find his books to be too long winded and at times just 'filling'.. as I have moved into the written word for a moment have you read and James Herbert horror books? This guy is GREAT and his subject matter is really interesting. His early works were your standard gore feast with large overgrown mice with sharpe pointy teeth (Rats). I would heartily recommend his work to anyone.

Grudge freaked you out??? is this the first Japanesse style horror movie you have seen? as they are all normally in this vein and seem to get the viewer involved either emotionally (tied to the characters) or directly as the evil on the screen seems to know that you are watching (or gives that feeling).

Night of the living dead both the new and the old version were great. The helicoptor scene from the first one was classic.

Have fun

King is a great writeron't read his horror novels, read his actual novels. I like Eye of the Dragon.

The Grudge was the second, I also saw The Ring. You are right, they do draw you in.

I think I have too good an imagination to read King's books. I tend to freak myself out. I've tried to read "It" several times, and couldn't get through it.

I have read Tommy Knockers and found it to be too long winded for me also I read (or tried) to read another one but could not get into it.

The ring was good but the original Japanese version was a little disturbing :?

I keep saying I'm going to pick up Ringu, but change me mind at the last minute.

Maybe it's the long winded writing style that allows my mind to play tricks on me. That's probably why I keep getting spooked, or spooking myself.
