Default hi, i'm in fallujah, iraq and my psp is my only friend...

started looking around for tiger woods tips and tricks (namely, how to tell the distance using those stupid grid lines on the green for putting) and ended up joining this forum because i couldn't believe all the stuff you can do with a psp.

i am trying to use the PSPersonalize Ver. 1.0 to change the background images on my PSP menu. haven't figured it out as of yet though.

fallujah sucks, incase you're wondering. the temperatures have been over 115 degrees for the past week and seem to be getting higher by the day. it kind of reminds me of when mom used to bake cookies. i would open the oven door to get a fresh cookie but had to battle the quick blast of hot air before i could reach in. well, that's what it's like to walk around here every single day. if you think i'm kidding, join the marines and come over here so you can find out for yourself. i've been here for six months and have many many months yet to go. i'm a u.s. marine and really don't feel like hearing anti-war garbage from those who oppose american presence in iraq. don't bother telling me that you think i suck. you won't be telling me anything that don't already know. i just don't care to hear it.

other than that, i'm roger. nice to meet you. now if i can figure out how to program my psp to play super nintendo games, i'll get over this gouging desire to choke people who bother me while i try to surf the internet on my time off.

Thanks man. Keeping my head up cause I have a long time to go until I get home. Haven't forgot to duck yet though. The sun is sort of a given here. I don't think there's a way to escape it.

Thanks though,
Roger

Where I am located, it's not bullets that you have to worry about. It's the incoming rockets and mortars. Haven't had any in the past week or so but usually they throw them at us every night.

Then you need to put a rec in for a tin hat.... a BIG tin hat one that you can crawl under and play your PSP in safety

Best of luck

Well, I don't mean to be stereotypic but how much time do you have to play your PSP? I thought they didn't allow nonessential items in the marines...

Wait, fallujah, Iraq? How are you accessing the internet? :?

You're right. I don't get the time that everyone else does. It's rather frustrating only messing with it for five to ten minutes at a time. It's something to do at least.

Where I work, we have computers with internet access.

edit: and what I put in my pack is my business so long as it isn't something that is banned in iraq. (i.e. beer and porn) they don't mind. everyone has something to keep their mind occupied during "down time".

Oh. That's really cool. It kind of reminds me of that army commercial with the guy coming back from the army and telling his friends he works with computers.

I am an artillery forward observer. It basically means that I travel forward with units and when they get into a jam, I call for supporting arms such as artillery, close air strikes, or naval gunfire.

You don't think that working with computers is less than noble, do you?
