Whats the point in getting the core, its the same price as the full system once you add the hard drive, and you only have 1 wired controller and no headset.

Ard.Rhys, if i had to choose between the two it would be ps3, for obvious reasons, the difference in price isnt that much of a problem so i just look at performance and new features, like the six axis controller.

I thought the same thing, but then I realized that Sony may be using all the memory for digital distribution of software, kinda like Xbox live. You will probably be able to store games (indie and PS1 downloads) in the future, so I now think that the extra space might not be a bad thing to have after all. :?

Technically you save $50, but I see your point, I don't know which I'll get, I thought that they were like the same, but one had a hard drive in it.

Seems blatantly obvious to me. It's for the same reason you might buy a house without a conservatory on it - you can build it yourself at a later date when the finance allows should you wish to. There are lot's of people who can afford £200 but not £280 - the current difference between the two in this country.

At least unlike the PS3 updating a core to a premium is possible. If you buy the cheaper PS3, you're stuck with it.

OMG are you serious Pagnell...that sucks...for other people because Imma be outside the malls doors waiting for the old janitor to fumble through his keys to open the door so I can run into Gamestop and buy the expensive PS3...all at 6 in the morning... :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

There are people that sleep and wait in tents outside of CompUsa for 3 days where I live. And its not just one person-its like a line of tents!

The shortages on the 360 will be a dream in comparison to the PS3. The chances of you getting a first batch are remote and there are a lot of people prepared to break the bank to get one. If I do get one I will make it a second hand and save some money. The price of the thing is stupid.
