Really exited now, PS3 switched on...

Look look look, its a PS3, with the LED lights on!!!!! also said the console was quiet except for when booting up, and this ps3 had been on for over 12 hours with no overheating problems at all!

And so it begins, people having orgasms over a system no one has used yet. And unlike the 360, it's shiny. Sh*t, I didn't know that. I'm now going to have to sell my 360 and mortgage my house to buy a PS3 because I just can't do without that bling shine.

And it stayed on for twelve hours with no heat problems? Wow, I'm impressed. I played Oblivion for about ten hours solid the other day and amazingly the 360 didn't have a heat issue either. And that is with the CPU working overtime and not just sitting in a shop window doing nothing.

Like anyone who is sensible, I will hold back my judgement on the thing until I have seen it running. I'm sure it will be superb (for the price it had better be) but let's wait and see.

I'm personally not aware of any 360 fanboy who has said the PS3 'isnt gonna be any competition for the 360' but I am aware of people who say the success of the 360 so far, the price of the PS3 and the rumours circulating that pre-owned games won't work online are not going to make it easy for it. Add to that Sony's problems in other areas and it's not an ideal launch pad for it.

thought i'd point out that it wasn't dell's problem (well it was) but it was Sony batteries that were exploding, having said that, some other battery companies are recalling batteries because of the same problem, these rechargable batteries that are used in laptops aren't up to the standards of playing the newest processor killing games, videoconferencing and the such that require greater power from the battery.
New batteries that are meant to be instant-rechargable are being developed but wont come out for another decade.

oh and I didnt mean to start a 360 VS PS3 debate, just thought it would be nice to see some pretty lights showing up on the first ps3 turned on.

As for my 2 pennies, Microsoft already have a head-start in this generation of console wars, I'm not going to comment on anything else until I play a PS3 for myself.
