Can You Really Fry An Egg On The Sidewalk?

SEATTLE - With the frequent heat waves of this summer, you might be thinking at times it is indeed hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk.

You can sure give it a try the next time we're sweltering, but you're not likely to have much luck. According to The American Egg Board, eggs need to reach between 144 and 158 degrees before they are considered "cooked."

And while sidewalks and, most notably, black-topped roadways do get pretty hot on days when the air temperature pushes 90, they usually fall well short of the needed 144 degrees. But if you manage to get one to cook on your local sidewalk, let us know. Just be sure to clean up your mess when you're done -- and please don't eat it!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A playstation at 140 degrees, nah afraid not.

But you can fry an egg on a PS, just put the PS in the frying pan aswell.
