Sonys Answer to Microsoft: PS3 to Ship With 60GB HDD

It seems that way. Microsoft has the Xbox Live platform which allows gamers to use Microsoft's online service, offering downloads and allowing multiplayer gaming, and now Sony will have the HDD in the PS3.

Sony has already confirmed that the PS3 will come with the 60GB HDD when it's finally released this November which, if preferred, can also be upgraded. All games in PS3 are being developed to take advantage of the 60GB HDD. This will also mean that the HDD will allow gamers to use it in the same way Xbox players use the Xbox Live platform - in an attempt perhaps to standardize the PS3 community. This will mean that developers of PS3 games will have to make their games HDD-oriented so that all PS3 users will benefit from HDD-related features.

I wouldn't be too happy. All these new things are being added which in the long run will mean an inrease in price. Over $400 at least and that isn't good - they will take a big hit on sales as a result. I reckon in four years time, more 360's would have been sold than PS3's and I wouldn't have said that a year ago.

These things are being thrown in to sweeten the deal.

Sony knew they'd take a battering for delaying so they reveal this news to keep the punters happy. All it does is throw another £50 onto the price tag and further add pressure onto a company who's moral is slipping into oblivion.

I'll stick with my 360 thanks.

man this is good and bad like pagnel said it increases the price but then again a 60gb hd is good as well guess wel have to wait and see how much it will retail for

Well, unless you have a full time job, too much. And a lot of people on here are still at school so it's either a choice between having rich parents or saving for a long time. Personally, I could easily afford one based upon a UK price of £400 but unless it is significantly better than the 360, I'll not bother. I was intending to get both but all this Sony sh*t recently has put me off.

Well, my current computer is 120GB and that cost me alot so it is an impressive amount.

Well, I'm able to afford one, but if it's $400 - $500 I don't think I'll want to buy one... (at least not now. :P)
