Hi! I'm new around here...

Well it probably could have if they didn't have so much unnecessary stuff like HD forced and all that stuff. I mean if they made the game with terrible textures and all that stuff, I'm sure it could have been put out on the Xbox (hell it was supposed to). The reason why I said GTA, Pikmin, etc was because the way we see GTAIII is a way that woudln't have worked on the PSone era. Driver tried it and it was MISERABLE. Pikmin wouldn't have worked becuase the AI and too many things happening at once (it might have but like Driver failed).

How can you think that the Revolution is as good as sliced bread if no body knows anything about it? Either Nintendo is doing a hella job keeping it secret or there's nothing to find out...
BTW, this doesn't have anything to do with performance but if the Revolution is backwards compatible and it's the main selling point, should it be called the Ninendo Retrolution? :P

No offense to you, Purple_link, but that's just plain dumb. They know you can get all this stuff off the internet... for free.

Hi! I'm new around here...

Well yeah they know you can get the stuff off the internet for free, but so does Apple with their iTunes software and look how that is doing in the world. Trust me, if the downloads are cheap (say a quarter for a NES game) then it will be a HUGE selling point. Not everyone wants to sit on the computer and play the game with a horrible game pad (some PC joypads are good, but most aren't) when you can just play it on your TV with a very good pad. It's all a matter of perception and whether or not you feel good about playing pirated games (I do on my Dreamcast) or whether you want to be legit and actually pay (minimally I hope) for a good copy.
And if you read my post, the reason why I think it's better than sliced bread is because of the GCN compatibility. Sure I have a GCN already, but with this I get a new system and a GCN in one. Also another selling point to me is SSB Online that (if you've played Melee and got addicted) will be one of the greatest things this world has ever seen (hopefully). And about it's secrecy, I don't really care, but the things I do know (plus the aesthetics of the console) are great. And I never said I don't like blood and gore, I said that I don't really see the NEED for it in a game. Sure the GTAs have gotten away with it, but a game like Manhunt (IMO) is really not necessary. Halo 2 doesn't have blood and gore and look how that did. Also, I do like some games like that (GTA:SA, MK2, Total Carnage) but when it becomes an abundance then it really isn't my cup of tea...unless it's a REALLY great game. GTA:SA comes to mind becuase it took the, what I think to be crappiness, of the two previous games and refined them to greatness. No more loading between cities, countryside, upgradable elements, swimming and more and more. But that's just me.
