Default US PS2 in Japan

I have a US PS2 at the moment
and I'm going to be going to japan soon

will I beable to use my US bought PS2 in Japan? lol

I can't see why not, but the games you buy there will more than likely be in Japanese.

The system would work if you buy a power adapter to match whatever voltage they use there. The games from Japan will not work on your PS2, unless it is moded.

Really, I thought that the games were region free, like on the PSP and just about any other system out there?

No, they aren't. US PS2 will not sun Japanese games at all.

Also, if I remember correctly, the only PSP that is region free is the Japanese one, which can run games from any region, but not movies. I believe that a PSP from any other region can only run games in that region.

Hmn, that's gay.

I want to say this, but I don't want to get in trouble(lol, a mod worrying about getting in trouble. )

I know for a fact, even though I don't use ISOs, that a Japanese ISO will run on a US PSP... It might not be the same for UMDs though.

That is because the custom firmware get rid of the region lock.

There's an option to unregionlock movies, but not games.
