Default ISO's & Why We Don't Talk About Them!

Right, I'm about fed up of people asking me what an ISO is, so here goes!
If anybody asks you in the future, just point them this way!

I will not answer any questions in which the answer will reveal how to use an ISO/CSO/BIN/CUE file in this thread or anywhere on this website!

ISO

An ISO is simply, an image of a disk file that can be stored, sent and used by the people who are able to access it. Many legit software companies use the ISO format to distribute their software, such as operating systems and the likes...

ISO's are used (illegally) by PSPirates to distribute UMD game images illegally, there are numerous sites on the web that are set up solely for this purpose, none of them will be mentioned here!

ISO has also become a common name for most disk images, such as BIN/CUE files.

BIN/CUE
If you have come across some pirated games in your time you may have also come across the BIN/CUE file format.

Quote:
The .BIN/.CUE image file format, developed by Jeff Arnold for the CDRWin program. An image consists of two files which contain binary data and metadata, respectively. The filenames typically match (e.g. image.bin and image.cue).
I generally use BIN/CUE files when I am ripping my PSONE games (legally) to be used on the PSX Emulator on the PSP (3.03 OE-A & above), this is another instance of where you may have seen .bin & .cue files.

CSO
A .cso file is a compressed ISO file, obviously these are still illegal as it is basically a copy of the .iso file that is smaller in size, this is probably the most commonly used disk image in the PSPirate community.

So there you are, do not remove this thread, it is not here to help people pirate games. It is to inform people to stay away from them, thanks for reading.

Ashley.

Haha! Genius.

Nice post. I would sticky this but I'm not sure that anyone would read it anymore if it was. Bump.
