Default XP hanging at startup

Here we go AGAIN!

First off im going to list the parts i bought which i thouroghly checked for compatablilty.

Seagate ST3320620AS 320GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM - Ebuyer
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ CPU - Cheap at Ebuyer!
Crucial 1GB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 Memory Unbuffered CL5 Non-ECC 1.8V - Ebuyer
MSI K9N6SGM-V GeForce 6100 Socket AM2 onboard VGA and 8-channel audio mATX - Ebuyer

Now that is the 8x PCI slot mobo, but im not using those, and doubt i ever will.

I installed XP Home on this with no problems at all, then it starts hanging on the XP loading screen with the bar running accross the bottom.

I have googled around and some say its the video handler or something, now this is using the mobos video.

Also, this used to happen with my old PC, so could it be XP, or am i missing something.

I see this is from late October, so it's doubtful, but let me know if you still need help with this.

Really? Brave soul, you are.

How do you like it?

I just recently got a new notebook with Vista on it and I love it.
(And, I'm an IT guy)

I would never recommend it for my business clients. It's not ready yet.

But, for my own personal use, I love it. The sidebar gadgets are amazing.

I turned the sidebar and the visual effects off to save on RAM, plus im not really bothered about visuals, i really want Ubuntu running though, that kicks ass.

Your problem started the second you inserted that boot leg version of XP...actually it started when you chose Windows for your OS....but then again we really don't have a choice in this monopoly of business Microsoft offers us....heres a decent OS....like it for what good it has...oh and ignore that little blue screen...and all the RAM we needed to make it look decent in comparison to Apple's newest OS...its all about looks people, huh? Performance? We'll look into that later, when we feel people do the right thing and move onto Apple's Mac....but that'll never happen...

My XP was genuine actually, vista aint but meh, consider it a replacement for the faulty XP i legally bought off them.

Im stuck with windows, the parents wouldnt be able to get their heads around the apple OS.

Why would you want an apple OS? Sure it may not have as many problems, but when it does get them, there is no way to fix them.
