Question Hdtv

Right I'm usually quite good with cables and techy stuff, but HDTV has lost me.

So I think I'm going to buy a HDTV to use my 360 with, have a look at Vistron 26" HD LCD TV 720p 1080i 1366x768 1000:1 550cd/m2 HDMI 8ms Black/Silver + Free Wall Bracket and tell me what you think of it.

Another thing is would I need to buy a new cable to use it to full 1080i or will my standard one that came with my 360 do? (the one with 6 plugs on the end) or would I get an even better picture with a different cable?

So what's the BIGGIE about the elite coming with a HDMI cable, what's that for?

You need a HDMI cable to connect the console up with the HD TV
NO other cable but a HDMI cable.
Well for the PS3 its like that.

Sorry, you're a little off about that. You can connect with the component and display in HD (up to 1080i), but if you want 1080p video and digital audio output you need HDMI. That goes for the PS3, 360 and any other HD reciever or Bluray/HD-DVD player.

The TV he linked didn't support 1080p so it doesn't really matter.
If you can, try get a TV that supports true 1080p, you wont regret it.

So at the end of the day i was right, unless you get a 1080p TV which i doubt you will because of the expense, then the cable you have will be fine with that TV.

Also, 720p is better than 1080i just so you know.

I think 720p will look good enough for me anyway! Dont think I'd even notice the difference

You would notice the difference between 720p and 1080p, but you would also notice the difference in your bank balance.

Popcorn Kevdo speaks wise words of wisdom... wisely? You should pay heed.
1080p TV's are like Absinthe, so much more freaking awesome than regular shots but so much more freaking expensive.

£3.25 for a goddam shot. I must have spent a fortune. Its only like £1.20 or something for Apple Sourz. That makes Absinthe like... [5 minutes later] £492.05 a gallon! Flaking hell!

But yeah, 1080p>720p>1080i>Non toasted bagles
