lol when I was In the UK for my summer holiday with Monkey B. There was a free wireless connection next to our house. We used it for free (it was there 2 years ago.) Then now... He made a key so we cant acsess it xD.

No it is not wrong. The person has a choice. To set a password or not. If the person doesnt set the pass, then it is his own fault for not setting a key.

Sorry if this is long...

I think it is wrong because it IS stealing, if someone doesn't lock their car does it mean it's OK to steal things from it?

Using someone's wireless slows down their connection and uses up their download limit if they have one.

pah, if someone's stupid enough to have unencrypted wireless then they deserve to have people leeching off of it. I have a 128 bit hex encoded wep key

Put it this way, if your friend left his car running at night with the doors open, sitting in the middle of the street, and it got nicked. whose fault would the insurance company say it was?

So if you walk around without a bullet proof vest on and you get shot, is that your fault.

Well then, its stealing and i dont agree, i admit that i have looked into hacking Wep keys, but simply for my own knowledge. I have wireless so i wouldnt have any use for it.

But, yeah its wrong. Cabe, if you thought it was ok then you wouldnt have encryption on yours would you?

I have encryption on mine because I don't want anyone leeching away my internets.

If someone manages to break my encryption and uses it then fair go to them.

I don't think using somebody else's internet is wrong. I'm with Cabe on this one. Good example with the car Cabe.

I have a key on mine, because I don't want anybody looking through my files. If someone's using someone else's internet to hack into their computer and break it/look through their files, I don't like that, but if someone's just getting on QJ or just browsing the net and what not, I see no harm in that.

I've looked how to crack a WEP key a couple times so that I can use internet at my mom's house, but it's been useless so far, the only place I can get internet is in the back seat of the car(uncomfortable as you can imagine)

So, here's my line.

Fine:
Mooching to Browse the internet, I would have no problem with that.

Not Fine:
Hacking to gain passwords, Credit Card Numbers, your files, etc. I would kick their a** if they did that to me.
