Follow the link to see a story saying how an online auction is being set up so that programmers can sell information on loopholes and bugs that they find in software in auction to the highest bidder. As opposed to using this knowledge for their own personal gain or to sell on to some criminal hackers.
What struck me about this is the effect on homebrewers and the people like Fanjita who aim to find and break Sony's code all the time in order to make downgraders and homebrew. Would they be tempted to sell their newly found holes on this auction that would more than likely be bought by Sony themselves for fixing.
Or do the developers make enough money for their hard efforts through the donations they receive?
