Truth be told I went to my moms boyfriends friends house to clean their computer, once it was like new I tested the speed and it was going a good 18000kb/s down...in a regular house hold for a single computer... :shock:

I bet mine would go a lot faster if I just ran my computer strait to my router, I think my cousin was on the net and I was downloading something on the playstation store when I did that one... I might try again with just only my computer later.

Umn....a 3 when talking High-Speed internet....Dial-up can't go that fast...

OO...I just saw the "Compare with others" option.
I clicked it and it says that I'm fatser than 62% oof the connections in the world and I'm 52% faster than all connections in the U.S...so yea, that would explain the minute-long load for a damned thread... :x

You know the weird thing? My connection is slower than Bam's, but it feels really fast, I don't have to wait for videos to load, and web pages load in less than a second (plus on a P2P network, I can get most songs in less than a minute). But, on my older computer things load a lot slower (it has a wired connection to the modem compared to my laptop which uses the same modem but with WiFi).
Maybe connection speed is less important than computing power? My laptop is waaaaay better than my desktop. I just got my laptop, and I've had the desktop for about 4 years. :? :? :? |

Wireless transfers at 54MB/s Ethernet transfers at 100MB/s and some at 1 GB/s...wireless is actually slower...
