Default Tutorial for Windows - Hide n' Seek :p

hello guys, some times we have important things, that we wish no one to read or see, well we also need to leave that in our computers , or maybe even send it, but would be a little dangerous if someone could ever get it, or read it. Years ago there were a software that worked as a cameleon, u could hid documents as jpeg (awesome right!!!) Well it can being: documents, pics, vids, or whatever, let's see what we can do, so no one will be able to get it. . .

HIDE and SEEK tutorial

software needed: Winrar

first off lets allow modifications in the extension of the files. . . just follow the pic bellow

After u have accessed the folders options, go to view TAB and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types

ok

now chose a file that u want to hide. In this tutorial I'm using a very important document

things now only get simpler, right click this document or documents, and chose send to, compressed folders

oh i forget to mention, u now are able to put a password, so even if someone get the file, wont be able to open it (unless the person is hacker lol)

time to put a password, right click the new compressed folder u have just created and select Explore

done that select from the top of the window FILE> Add a Password

the password is up to u of course. . . i used lightt . . . :P

ok lets get it done

now after u put a password, is time to change its extension makin it invisible. . . or maybe camouflaged

select the file press F2, give it a system name, like win_234, then u can chose the extension, it can be .dll .sys or any of ur preference, specially extensions that are not opened in every system. I chose to rename as W_s.dll

See that u can't say behind this file there's a doc. . . can u?

if still u want to hide it a little bit more, just right-click it, chose properties> attributes> hidden

to open the file is simple. . . double click the file, windows will pop up another window, chose Select the program from a list> ok

Now chose Winrar - there u are, with ur file again

well that's it fellows, i hope somehow it will be useful. . .

lightt

ps.: dont forget to put the files extension back to normal, otherwise, whenever u try to rename a file, u may change the extension of it. . . just follow the first and second pic to get it done, just check it back

Try embedding a rar archive in a jpg. It's more fun and less work! (Mwhahahahahahaahaha!!!)

yeah, but there is one problem, if someone get to see that huge jpeg or any other image extension, it would be easy to discover, the point i used rar was just to be able to put a password. Though the person discovers still has to crack the password

my favorite way to hide things on the family computer (not that I have to anymore, i have my own laptop) is to do this:

Add .{C96401CC-0E17-11D3-885B-00C04F72C717} to the name of any folder. (eg. Stuff would become Stuff.{C96401CC-0E17-11D3-885B-00C04F72C717} )

This makes it impossible to open the folder in explorer, but still has the same icon and still has the files inside. I use WinRAR to browse the contents of the folder (open winrar manually without archive tho)

Nobody I know is really skilled with computers, so I'm good with just having all my stuff in hidden folders.

I guess it would be good if your parents knew about computers.

I would never worry about my parents, first because I stay alone, so I don't even have the need to hide anything, no one but me access my laptop... but it just a way to hide and protect stuffs!!!!
