I'm not upgrading, it's not because it's expensive, it's just that I've heard Rumors about it being SUPER strict and using up all your processing power.

My computer's almost compatible, but even when it is compatible, I'm still sticking with XP Pro, I just heard that everything runs faster in XP Pro than in Vista, and also, they're more strict on Piracy.

Personally I can't see anything Vista has to make it a worthwhile upgrade. It seems a whole lot of hassle and loss of freedom just for some eye candy. I dual booted my system with it a few weeks ago and have played with it a lot. Yes it's got a few nice features. No it isn't worth the upgrade if you are running XP and don't have any issues - it is just too bloaty and way too expensive. Also, the amount of system resources it uses for the mostly pointless eye candy is unbelievable. Unlike XP, it also doesn't allow non-signed drivers to be installed so unless MS have signed the drivers for some particular hardware you have, it simply won't work. Whoever came up with that idea should be shot.

I intend to stick with XP until I have no option to upgrade which hopefully will be a long time.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, screw that.

I also heard that it sucks because it has a blocked program list, I'm DEF sticking with XP for a long time. That's how I was with 98, I didn't up to XP till like very recently, probably about midish 2005. So I don't plan to up to Vista untill AT LEAST 2010. Even than I don't really want to.

EDIT: Install Vista In 2 Minutes

I know, sounds like something you don't need, but it's kinda funny. :P This guy hates it so much.

Please forgive my ignorance but I have only seen Vista on demo at the stores and I must say that I adore the clock!!!!! yes yes I know all the technical mumbo jumbo and lack of compatibility issues etc but I like the clock... I find it amazing that this latest wizzo OS full of bells and whistles has an analogue clock.... I mean with hands and a sweeper hand.... 8) I just think that's great and ironic at the same time.

I can remember that nearly every major version of Windows brought withit upgrade issues... but the ones outlined above seem rather annoying to say the least.

Here (in Canada) we have a series of adverts where two men just stand infronmt of the camera and talk to each other. One represents a PC and is dressed in a suit and is a little snobbish. While the other is a younger chap in smart casuals and he represents a MAC. You guys check the website out and see these ads they are brill.

Back in the UK I am sure a company is not allowed to bad mouth another but here it's the norm.

Yeah, the analog clock does look pretty cool, but I HATE the digital clock down in the bottom right corner.

I like, those commercials, lol, even though I think every single product Apple has released is pure sh**, those commercials amuse me.

There's one that I saw that just bags on the mac instead of the PC, but I forget where it was.

Google and download the Vista Transformation Pack - it's a one-time deal and doesn't have bloatware running in the background everytime you boot up.

Got exactly the same thing here - two guys out of the program Peep Show. The adverts are plastered all over the tube and represent Macs and their owners quite well. Annoying little smug b*stards.
