Default Laptop Repair - Avoid if you can

As you all know my laptop died quiet a while ago. I was distraught, with nothing to console me, until about a week ago when I called Toshiba and found out I was still under warranty. Since then I have been anxiously awaiting it's arrival, since I have to do some school work on it. Here goes the repair history:

Status Description Done

Accepted Receipt Acknowledgement | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | "Auto Insert" 01/29/2007 12:31:00

Unit Received Unit Received by Depot | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | "Auto Insert" 02/01/2007 18:54:00

Unit Received Unit Received by Depot | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | "No Accessories" 02/01/2007 18:54:00

In Repair Repair In Process | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | " 2. Loose DC Jack. Replacing Motherboard." 02/07/2007 16:37:00

In Repair Repair In Process | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | "[TECH] 40GB, 256+256, XP Home, has wifi, no it, scr, missing feet" 02/07/2007 16:36:00

Hold On Hold - Parts | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | "203-A" 02/09/2007 16:43:00

In Repair Off Hold - Parts | SO#: T1-8VOFXW | "Sent -to -tech -room" 02/09/2007 21:59:00.

As you can see, they are hardly speedy. I don't recommend this if you can avoid it.

New info: I GOT MY LAPTOP BACK.

I quickly downloaded firefox and the Vista Transformation pack as they hooked my up with a fresh install of XP. After that I was up until 11.45 (Mountain Time) moving over 17 gigs of stuff to it from the computer I had been using since my laptop got sent in.

I still don't have all of it moved over. Oh well, I get Monday of next week off, so I can play with it then

I'm going to have to get my laptop serviced...

My mom somehow manage to completely SNAP OFF the INTERNAL Charging port(where you plug the charger) I called Geek Squad and some other place, they said at LEAST $120-300...
