Exclamation Kaspersky Help!

I think that the free AVG is good, but there are other anti-virus programs out there that are a little bit better for what you pay. So I got Kaspersky. but once I have uninstalled AVG, Kaspersky says that AVG 8 must be uninstalled. I have tried and re-tried every method that the internet has, from uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs, to downloading the latest version and marking "Uninstall," to using a program that's supposed to uninstall any program and not leave a trace of it behind AND cleaning the registry, but the new program still recognizes AVG 8. How can I COMPLETELY remove AVG?

A note: I have had AVG free for about 4 months, and I don't have any System Restore Points before 4 weeks ago.

How about trying to go to C:\Program Files and looking for, than deleting the AVG 08 folder, not sure where it'd be, but you'll find it if you dig for long enough. Also, don't delete anything except for that folder because if you just go around deleting a whole lot of things in there, you might delete something that one of your programs that you use, or you computer needs.

Unless it's just checking the install location to see if anything's still there? Than you'd just need to do what I said, not exactly sure if that's what it does, either way, one of our ways will work, or they should anyways.

There was some issues with the registry key, deleting it works, if your a complete noob, do what Sir Kevin has suggested.

AVG went from being fantastic to completely useless.

So yeah, Kaspersky or Alternativiely, ESET Nod 32, which is rated higher by respected windows PC experts for its good protection and unobtrusive nature. Otherwise Kaspersky is ok.

FFS dont even think about Norton or McAffee - Quite possibly the ****test ever AV solutions without doubt, they are having a competition to see who exactly can offer the ****test product and still make money, based on promotion and sucking PC Worlds Bosses Chipalata Peckers. Seriously, some rich guy with a yacht somewhere is having a laugh, right now

I found the solution

Bypass Kaspersky incompatible software scan during installation

Go Google!

AVG 8.0 is a good bit of software... you know I have nticed that anti-virus software is a fashion thing.... this month this is the product next it's this and then another and so on.... We all slag off Nortons and Mcafee but these are the TOP selling products out there and are recommended by many big companies.

I am not commenting on which is a good one or not just the fashion thing I find interesting.
