Default Reasons NOT to have Vista

I have 7 reasons to have XP instead of Vista:

1) Takes up too much RAM. (I read on this forum)
2) Incompatible with many games and programs.
3) WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many errors and confirmation pop-ups.
4) Can't wirelessly connect to my home printer.
5) If you really like the interface, you can download a skin for XP that looks EXACTLY like Vista. (I read on this forum)
6) Impossible to find files, folders and settings.
7) when you do anything except open a file, you need to usually triple-confirm that you are the administrator and that you trust this file.

If you have any more, please add them!

It crashes even the newest of PC's

Specs:

3.2ghz dual core
4gig ram
8600GT gpu
500gig hdd

And yes it still crashes it. Installed vista 6 times over the last weekend, but no hope and went back to XP with my mods that look FAR better than vista can ever look.

And XP dosent crash, YAY.

Errrm. It is Slow. It dont actually look that much better. The only way to make it fast is turning off the visual styles.

Since old bill hung up his gloves, microsoft have gone down the ****ter. I never thought id find myself actively advocating a microsoft product, but here i am. XP was the highlight of the microsoft reign in software. but now they seem to be going backwards. They left the simplistic approach behind and flooded folk with craploads of garbage, that 99% of consumers neither want or need. It is affectionately called "bloatware". XP had a bit of it, and it wasnt a problem - you can just delete or uninstall it, happy days.... Vista seriously takes it to another level, skipping levels on the way, try to delete the bloatware on Vista and holy ****!

OS : Are you sure you want to delete this piece of useless crap thats taking up memory and precious space on my hard drive i could use to install games on?

You: OK

OS: But are you really sure?

You: Yes, OK

OS: Are you really really sure?

You: FFS! OK OK OK OK!!!!! Delete you swine

OS: Ok, but are you admin?

You: of course im the admin, i own this PC

OS: Do not pass go > You do not have sufficient rights to delete these useless files. I'm the boss here... I own you mother ****er

You: ****in' Vista. I hate you.

OS: you dont mean that why dont you play a microsoft card game like solitaire?

You: Solitaire is boring... No no NO! I see what your doin here I want to delete these files and you wont let me.... OK to the control panel
.....
Yes im sure.... OK..... I really do.

Right the control panel.... User management....

Yeah. So where was I. These Frelling people at microsoft think were complete and utter noobs. Like when theres kids about and the parents put a gate on the kitchen so that the kids dont run in and burn the house down cos they dumb.

So on top of it eating RAM like snacks, and being safeguarded to hell.

You cant use the command prompt either. minor but neccessary sometimes.

They need to learn and learn fast, or the monopoly is over.
Enter, the Windows XP/Vista hybrids. Im just waiting for the day

Vista lasted a week on my PC. More than some.

VISTA RULES.......
As I have said before... Vista works like a dream for me.... multiple sessions and servers all at once... not a single hickup and easy to use too. Runs with all the old kit here and a HP laserjet 6 that is so old it runs on coal!!!!

Format the drive

Carefully sprinkle holy water on the hard drive which used to have Vista on it to banish it of all evil.

Install XP on the born again hard drive (you will hear it purr)

If you need drivers still, go to DriverGuide.com (printer drivers, cdrom drivers, modem drivers, sound drivers, mouse drivers, monitor drivers, etc.) - DriverGuide.com (not sure what kind of manufacturer makes you prove you own the device, but I'd not do business with them again). You have to register but its to avoid other websites using direct links.

Copy important files over

Happy network!

Its worth the hassle
I've had my new computer for two weeks, and it hasn't crashed... yet. Then again, the closest thing to anything that would crash Vista so far that I have downloaded has been a Hex Editor and some "No-CD" hacks for some computer games.
