New PC - FINALLY! - PSP-Forum.com

Ok so i have payed for and waiting for the delivery of my new PC. It cost me £570 and this is what i got:

Gaming case
Samsung 19" flat panel monitor
3.2Ghz Dual core AMD cpu
Gigabyte 570 sli mobo
8600GT grahics card
4 gig (2x2) 800mhz ram - corsair
500gb Hard drive (32 mb cache)
DL DVD burner
Wireless keyboard and mouse
Over ear headphones (the gaming type ones with the mic
2x neon style light things to go inside the case

So yeah, thats all, it arrives on wednesday and im gonna dual boot linux ubuntu and vista on it.

The neons are called cold cathodes btw lol

Lol, not much. i want to run CAD programs on it and get back into programming. Im taking this to uni so i want it to be fast.

Oh ok, I got scared for a second that you want it to be a gaming machine. While it will still probably do a decent job, you would have problems running something like Crysis.

ANYTHING will have problems running Crysis. Cysis is crazy...

Hope everything works with your new rig, have you ever built one before? If not, make sure to take your time, if you rush it, things will come out wrong. Also, if your motherboard or case comes with little plastic prongs, DO NOT forget to put those in. They make it so your motherboard doesn't fry against the metal on the case. I found this out the hard way.

I'm loving your rig Kev, but may I recomend you reconsider that 8800GTS. I recomend you get an 8800GTS G92 as it has a pretty nice performance differance in the G92's favor. That is, if you can afford the small increase in price it brings.
