Well here it is, its not completely done, i gotta go out 2moz and get some cables etc.

So i get home from college and this is greeting me by the door...
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00257.jpg

So i takes the boxs upstairs and unpack them, oh and if anyone wants any of these...
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00260.jpg
You can have em, i have LOADS!

Ok, so i unpack the case first so here it is
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00258.jpg
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00259.jpg

Next i pulled out the ram, i think this looks quite cool...
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00261.jpg
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00266.jpg
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00267.jpg

Now i gotta put the parts on my mobo...
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00265.jpg

Mobo goes into the case
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00268.jpg

Now to put in the graphics card...
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00269.jpg
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00270.jpg

Ok so after reading the manual etc, i connected all the wires like RESET switch and POWER LED etc etc. This i found a little confusing but i got there... So i turn it on and there we go.
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00271.jpg
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC00272.jpg

Now i appologise for the mess of wires but i really am not any good at being tidy. Also the old white cd drive you see in the second pic is coming out. Simply because my DVD drive is SATA powered and the PSU only has 1 SATA connection which atm is powering the hard drive.

So i need 2 power leads for psu and monitor (19" widescreen looks sexy!!) and a monitor cable and a 4 pin to sata power converter.

Hopefully will be done by the weekend. And will put my blue cold cathode tubes in later.

Ok so its all built and running.

Install Vista in a flash no problems.

Install drivers for graphics card and mobo etc and BOOM... pc freezes all the time.

So now im saying "**BEEP** windows, im going linux only"

so yeah, ubuntu is overwriting the entire HDD as i type. Imma put XP on it later, vista is in my bad books right now.

I tried to install Ubuntu as a secondary OS yesterday and completely jacked up Vista, so I just decided to say screw Vista(like Kev) and go with Ubuntu.

I've been messing around with the settings and downloading all kinds off cool stuff(got the cube to work) and they've got a LOT of free games and applications, so I've just been thumbing through them as well. So far, Ubuntu is a LOT better than Vista. I got a bunch of cool icons and login screens and stuff too.

Nice one Kev, just had a browse thru the thread (as im a PC nutcase jibba jabba)
Nice spec, you know what i think of AMD, however, they work fine as you said.
I reckon Microsoft ****ed up years ago when they realised that they were untouchable, so they could design and sell whatever they wanted, so they did just that. I know loads of people who tried vista then went back to XP immediately, others gave it a go and ended up with little bald patches and clumps of hair surrounding them.
I dual boot vista and XP, but i consider vista a 10gig waste of space on my hard drive- And never use it. Id still be on 98 if it was possible to install my driver software on it (i held onto 98 till 2005!) lol. Microsoft Rule the planet, and i hate them, no one likes Vista, people use XP cos thay have to, and i defo not a fan of being forced to use or do something. I dont pay microsoft for what they force me to use anyway, so that makes me smile, a lot

This Linux word is poppin up more and more...
So when i get the chance ill download one of the versions of Linux and give it a go.

Why is Ubuntu the Choice for you Kev?

On a similar note to the threadMy PC is nearly complete! its took me over a year to get it bit by bit, when its done ill post some pics of it up

Yeah. I think when i get my own computer i will probably give Linux a go. I would try it now lol but if i tried to dual boot the laptop i have to use atm as you know kev it would probably explode or something lol... Infact that is not a bad idea... Blow the laptop up and get to buy my own which is alot better... brilliant plan lol. Anyways my mum would not know how to use Linux so i would not be able to change OS to linux... OH well i will try it when i get a chance lol...
